Website Updates

Alrite,

In case you don't know i have been in charge of maintaining the website for the lads at uG.

Due to some limitations with the current site, we have decided to upgrade to a service that will allow us to do much more and hopefully provide you guys, reading and listening with a better service.

I am posting here just to make you aware that the switch over to the new service may cause very small amounts of downtime to this site. However the forums will be available throughout the process.

Also note that the URL of the upgraded site will be identical and design will be very similiar.

In terms of the podcast, that is now available to download on iTunes. Please leave us a review on the iTunes podcast page. It would be much appreciated.

I cant sign into the site, Just says my cookies aint enld (When they are) and invalid username, And its not

Hooded, you will not be able to sign into the new site yet. Once i have finished it hopefully tonight, i will send you all out new login's. It's a bit annoying but i have to re-add you as users. Sorry about this mate.

Also Enix are you viewing the site in Internet Explorer or FireFox? I seem to be having issues with the display in IE it is all algigning to the left, where as in FireFox it is perfect. Let me know and anyone else who is viewing in IE does it look right?

Yeh i'm having a lot of trouble fixing it for both FireFox and IE, it seems as though if i make it right for IE it cocks up in FireFox and vica versa. Arghhhhh! I'll keep cracking away at it.

That fucking flash players doing my tits in. It works for the majority of sites yet the one site i guess you guys are going to want to link from most ( GameTrailers ) won't work. Arggggghhhhhh.

Right Lads, so far here is what is different to the old site:

- Every page will now have its own unique URL rather than every page being www.ultimategamerspodcast.co.uk. This means that you can now link to any page if you need to.

- The forum menu button now links directly to the forum rather than to a page and then the forum.

- The flash player is up, however it does not yet work for Gametrailers.com
(what a load of bollocks), i will keep working at this and hopefully have it sorted soonish. If you want to post a flash video do this:

[flashvideo filename=url goes here /]

UPDATE: Video's from any website on the net can now be played on our site by using a simple id tag. I will email you lads how to do it when i add you as users.

Credit goes to Metal for this find. Cheers mate thought i was never going to sort it.

- Podcast options are now available when you post. Difficult to explain, so have a play about with it when you get your logins.

- When you now login another button will appear on the nav bar, saying site admin that will take you to the dashboard.

- Subscription icons. The iTunes one only works in Firefox at the minute. I am working on that.

- Forum design changed to match the website design.

Things that are going to be added soon:

- Pages for each platform, where you can post. I have to see if this is possible using wordpress first though. So no guarantee here.

Any other things that need adding just let me know and i'll see if it's possible.
